Cliff n Prue

Cliff and Prue are a brother-and-sister folk duo from Ely, Cambridgeshire, whose musical partnership has been shaped by a lifetime of shared songs, stages, and stories.
Older brother Cliff is the principal songwriter and guitarist, first drawing his younger sister Prue into his bands during their teenage years. That early collaboration eventually led to the formation of The Willows, alongside Jade, Ben Savage and Steve Maclachlan — a band that has gone on to earn a strong reputation on the UK folk circuit.

Prue now performs as violinist with the highly regarded Freds House, while Cliff continues with The Willows and a range of other projects include function work with Ward and Webb and Jade Rhiannon.

Together, Cliff and Prue create music that sits comfortably between folk, indie, and pop, blending traditional roots with classic songwriting influences — from Bob Dylan to John Butler Trio and John Martyn to Coldplay. Reviewcorner.org described Cliff’s writing as “robust and solid folk/pop tunes.”

Audiences can expect soaring violin lines, intricate and expressive guitar work, and songs that linger long after the final note — intimate, melodic, and quietly powerful performances that invite listeners in and leave them wanting more.
